USA South Preseason Coaches Poll Released
Fayetteville, NC -- The Peace College Pacers were picked to finish ninth in league standings in the 2010 USA South preseason coaches poll announced today from the conference office. The Methodist Monarchs, last year's regular season champions, were tabbed to lead the conference again this spring.
New Head Coach and Peace College alumna Kathy Jacobs comes to the court this spring with just one returner from last year's team, sophomore Kristen Starnes. The Pacers finished fourth in the last year's regular season standings.
Starnes finished her intercollegiate debut 7-11 overall, playng mostly No. 3 singles last spring and 4-14 at No. 2 doubles. Joining her this season will be two senior Pacer veterans, Haley Bright and Brittany Lynn. Both student-athletes played soccer in the fall but will closeout their careers as newcomers to tennis. Five underclassmen round out the Pacers.
The team opens the season hosting Salem College Friday, February 26. Doubles matches are slated to begin at 3:30 pm on the Ragland Tennis Courts. See you on the sidelines!
