Crook Named USA South Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Fayetteville, NC-Peace College volleyball first-year Bree Crook (Reno, Nevada) was named the USA South's Rookie of the Week for her production in four matches this week.  The conference office announced the weekly honors this afternoon.

Crook averaged 7.3 assists, 3.4 digs and 0.7 kills per set last week as the Pacers posted a 3-1 record with the three wins coming against USA South competition.  She posted a double-double in each match last week while leading the team in assists.  

In a 3-2 win over Greensboro, Crook recorded 30 assists, ten digs, eight kills, one block and one service ace.  In a 3-1 loss to Elizabeth City State, she compiled a match-high 39 assists with 15 digs, a match-high three service aces, two kills and two blocks.  In a 3-2 victory over Mary Baldwin, Crook tallied 37 assists with a team-high 25 digs, one kill, one service ace and one block.  Finally, in a 3-2 win over Methodist, she recorded 33 assists with 15 digs, a match-high four service aces, three kills and two blocks.

The Pacers remain local this week playing at Meredith Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 pm and Thursday at Peace versus non-league Guilford College.  The team lost a close five-set match to the Quakers in the season opener in Greensboro.  See you on the sidelines!
